Registration is now open for the Manhattan Beach 10K, in its 38th running in 2015.
The "slightly difficult" course will wind its way through Manhattan Beach on Saturday, Oct. 3, during Hometown Fair weekend. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Online and in-person registration at Village Runner in Manhattan Beach is available.
Founded in 1978 by a group of locals, the race is completely volunteer-run, with profits going to local schools, fitness-related recreation projects, and college scholarships. Awards will be given to the first 10 places in each division. Finishers' T-shirts are distributed near the post-race expo immediately after the race. A race day expo will be held in the upper parking lots near the finish line at the base of the Manhattan Beach Pier.
