After months of intensive work and collaboration, the students behind the StART art project will debut their artwork on Friday, July 8.

The exhibit's opening reception will be held on Friday, July 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach Art Center. The exhibit will run through July 13.

The StART project is a collaboration between the Mira Costa High School Art Department and the Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department's Cultural Arts division, aimed at giving gifted and dedicated high school students an opportunity to fully delve into visual arts.

The program gives students who want to focus on independent projects an opportunity to work in a studio environment alongside professional artists. Students have been working since October to plan, design, and create stellar artwork that will be showcased during this exhibition.

Student artists include Sofia Beck, Julia DiFiori, Stephanie Gonzalez, Daisy Moreno, Kellie Mullin, Beckette Navarette, Quin Nguyen, Grace Shumaker, and Delia Urias.

"I am so pleased with the amazing progress that StArt Projects participants have made on their journey this year," said professional contemporary artist Yaron Dotan. "It was a great experience for me to see them grow artistically."
