Aug 17, 2016 05:54PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Grab your lawn chairs, your black eye masks, and your spandex superhero costumes, because "The Incredibles" are coming to Manhattan Beach's Summer Surf Movie Series this Friday.

The free movie series, now in its third year, is sponsored by Nikau Kai Waterman Shop in collaboration with the City of Manhattan Beach and the Manhattan Beach Library.

The event will be held in the outdoor courtyard behind the library, adjacent to City Hall. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. with music and a raffle, followed by the movie. Food and beverage vendors, along with special kids' activities, will be on-site during the event.

Attendees are urged to bring low-backed beach chairs and blankets for comfortable movie viewing.

The popular 2004 movie "The Incredibles" tells the story of former superheroes Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, who are now living "normal" lives as Bob and Helen Parr along with their three kids, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack. Itching to get back into action, Bob gets his chance when a mysterious communication summons him to a remote island for a top secret assignment.

The movie is rated PG and has a run time of 1 hour and 56 minutes.
