We see you, photographers of Manhattan Beach, and we're wowed every day by your amazing photography of the beach, surfers, and the sunset. So now here's your chance to show off your skills in the California Coastal Commission's 24th Annual Ocean & Coastal Amateur Photography Contest.

The contest is free and open to all amateur photographers (defined as someone who earns less than 50 percent of his or her income from photography).

Entrants may submit up to five photos of subjects including the scenic coast and Pacific Ocean off California, people of the California coast, and/or California ocean and coastal wildlife (native species). The photographs must be taken from a public place. Photos must be taken in a natural setting; photos taken inside an aquarium will not be permitted. (A complete list of rules is available here.)

Prizes donated by contest sponsors include a variety of trips and excursions from Ventura up to Marin County.

P.S. Did you enter the Manhattan Beach Parks photography contest? Winners will be announced shortly.
