UPDATE: As of August 16, only gift card or cash donations will be accepted. This story has been reflected to amend the list of acceptable donations.

A group of Manhattan Beach residents and organizations have organized a collection drive to support victims of the Maui wildfires.

Manhattan Beach residents Scott and Stacey Rusher, who lost their home in Lahaina but made it out safely, have partnered with Chris Brown of Camp Surf, the Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation, and Skechers to collect needed supplies. The Rushers are working directly with a friend and neighbor in Maui whose non-profit will help facilitate distribution.

Items of greatest need include:
  • Gift cards to Target, Whole Foods and Longs Drugs

Physical donations may be dropped of at Rusher Air, 4435 West 153rd Street, Lawndale. Donations will be accepted Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to – 5:00 p.m.

The collection drive will continue to be collected as long as there is a need.

Monetary donations can be made through the Give The Dream Foundation or the Hawaii Community Foundation.
