Mira Costa High School senior Charlie Fuerbringer has been named the top girls' high school volleyball player in the U.S. by the National High School Coaches Association, which inducted Fuerbringer into this year's NHSCA Hall of Fame.

The NHSCA Hall of Fame celebrates the top coaches and athletes in high school sports from across the country. The Hall of Fame selection committee tracks the highest-level athletes throughout their season and chooses its honorees - one from each sport - upon completion of their respective seasons.

Fuerbringer is a lifelong volleyball player who has led multiple teams to major championships. At Mira Costa, Fuerbringer and her team were the past season's CIF Division 1 runners up, with Fuerbringer logging 130 kills and 416 assists while helping the Mustangs to a 39-4 record. She has been named to the All-CIF First Team twice.

Earlier this month, she was named to the first team of the MaxPreps 2023 High School Volleyball All American Team, and the Bay League's Most Valuable Player.

Over the summer, Fuerbringer was one of 12 girls named to the USA Volleyball U19 National team. The team competed in the 2023 International Volleyball Federation Volleyball Girls’ U19 Championship in Osijek, Croatia, where they brought home the gold medal.

In 2022, Fuerbringer was on the USA U19 team that won the Pan American Cup 2022. Earlier, she won gold medals at both 12 and 13’s at USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship.

Fuerbringer's next appearance will be at the Under Armour All-American Game to be held on January 2, 2024 in Orlando, Florida.

After graduation, she will continue her volleyball career at the University of Wisconsin.
