Modified Holiday Municipal Services Schedule Set for Manhattan Beach

Christmas Day (Monday, December 25)
The police department will not cite vehicles for street sweeping purposes on December 25.
City offices: Closed.
Construction: Construction is NOT allowed and no inspections will be conducted.
Joslyn and Manhattan Heights Community Centers: Closed.
Sand Dune/Begg Pool: Closed.
Manhattan Beach Art Center and Live Oak Park Ceramics Studio: Closed.
Tennis/Pickleball Courts: First come, first served (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
Emergency Services: Normal operations.
*Note that December 25 is the last day of red-bagged (free) parking meters in Manhattan Beach.
New Year's Day (Monday, January 1)
Trash Collection: Waste Management observes the New Year's Day holiday and a modified residential refuse schedule will be in place for the collection week. Residential collection will be delayed by one day. Monday's route will be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday's route will be collected on Wednesday, Wednesday's route will be collected on Thursday, Thursday's route will be collected on Friday and Friday's route will be collected on Saturday. Street Sweeping: Street sweeping will not take place on Monday, January 1, 2024 and will not be made up. All other sweeping days that week will operate on a normal schedule and route. For questions on street sweeping services, contact SCA of CA directly at (562) 861-4606.

Christmas Tree and Holiday Decoration Disposal
- Trees must be no taller than 7 feet or cut into 7-foot sections (Waste Management and City employees cannot trim trees)
- All decorations including tinsel, lights, ornaments, and tree stands should be removed
- Flocked trees will be collected but cannot be recycled
Place your Christmas tree curbside on your regular trash collection day for pickup.
Artificial Tree Disposal: Artificial or "fake" trees can be collected by Waste Management as part of their bulky item program. To schedule a bulky item pick up for an artificial tree, contact Waste Management directly at (310) 830-7100.
Holiday Light Recycling: Holiday lights and other electronic waste can be collected by Waste Management as part of their bulky item program. To schedule a bulky item pick up, contact Waste Management directly at (310) 830-7100.
Additional Material Collection: Residents can place bags of additional trash, recycling or organic waste (not bulky items) next to their corresponding carts for collection day from December 26, 2023 - January 13, 2024.
