Mira Costa Drama Earns Highest Rating for Fall Play

Mira Costa Drama has earned a top honor for its fall 2023 production of "Peter and the Starcatcher."

Every year between October and December, the California Educational Theatre Association (CETA) adjudicates fall productions at high schools in the Southern California Region (Orange County, Los Angeles, Inland Empire, and San Diego). This year a total of 67 schools competed. 

Mira Costa’s Fall Play, Peter and The Starcatcher, received a rating of “superior” - the highest possible rating - by adjudicators.

The actors and tech crew also received the following individual awards:

Adjudicator Award: Ava Ford, role of Molly

Director’s Award: Luke Fraunces, role of Black Stache; Jackson Yollin, role of Peter

Certificate of Achievement (Crew): Kelly Berman, Ava Marissa Brunner, Stephanie Canada, Sarah Dobbins, Bella Dominick, William Glavin, Avery Messina, Vita Minn, Lily Mizrahi, Seph Peters, Joshua Truong, Felix Whitlow, Lior Wolfson

Certificate of Achievement (Cast): Charlie Baboolal, Margie Conner, Chloe Estrin, Ava Ford, Luke Fraunces, Kathryn Glavin, Aaron Henschel, Zoe Meyer, Jonah Mirkovich, Jackson Yollin.

The cast and crew of Peter and the Starcatcher dedicated approximately 200 hours of rehearsal time outside of school hours between September and November for this production.

Mira Costa Drama Tech is currently in rehearsals for their spring musical, Footloose. Tickets for Footloose will go on sale on March 25; the show opens April 26. Find more information at www.miracostadramatechboosters.org.
