Retiring Ralph's Employee Honored for Half-Century of Service

It's been quite a run for Ralph's cashier Pamela Muelot, who will retire this week after more than 50 years of service. Muelot was honored with a special commendation from the city on Sunday.

Muelot began her career at the Ralph's in Redondo Beach and worked at several stores before landing at the Manhattan Beach Ralph's. She has worked there for approximately three decades and is a familiar face to generations of Manhattan Beach customers.

Manhattan Beach Mayor Joe Franklin surprised Muelot - and shoppers - on Sunday when he came to the Ralph's to present her with the commendation.

"Attention Ralph's shoppers..." began Franklin over the store's intercom (as Muelot could be heard saying, "Oh, geez" in the background). "We've got a special commendation to give to a very special person."
