Top Seeds Forge Ahead at Manhattan Beach Open

The top-seeded teams at the AVP Manhattan Beach Open are forging ahead after a full day of beach volleyball action on Friday.

On the mens' side, the top four teams of Chase Budinger/Miles Evans, Taylor Crabb/Taylor Sander, Chaim Schalk/James Shaw, and Trevor Crabb/Phil Dalhausser easily moved through their first two rounds.

On the womens' side, the three top-seeded teams of Taryn Brasher/Kristen Nuss, Terese Cannon/Megan Kraft, and Kelly Cheng / Molly Shaw moved ahead.

The #4-ranked team of Megan J. Rice and Geena Urango fell to #20-ranked Anaya Evans/Torrey Van Winden.

One team to watch today is the #27-ranked duo of Natalie Myszkowski and Kelly Belardi, both Manhattan Beach natives. Myszkowski/Belardi took down the #6-ranked and #11-ranked teams in surprise upsets on Friday.

They will take on #3-ranked Kelly Cheng/Molly Shaw at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The AVP Manhattan Beach Open continues through Saturday and Sunday. You can watch the action in person at the Manhattan Beach Pier, or track the results online at AVP's brackets.

General admission to the Manhattan Beach Open is free but fans can select from a variety of paid ticket options. More information on tickets and ticket sales - as well as brackets and schedules - can be found at the MBO by AVP website.
