MBCC Awards Scholarships to Mira Costa Seniors

Six Mira Costa High School seniors were recently awarded scholarships from the Manhattan Beach Coordinating Council at its Scholarship Luncheon held at the Belamar Hotel in MB. The honorees were introduced and recognized for their community service and outstanding academic accomplishments. 

The scholarship recipients are: Nikos Villarreal Styles (Outstanding Male Student), Emily Everhard (Outstanding Female Student), Matthew Wenner (Outstanding Academics), Anthony Lee (Trade/Vocational Studies), Madison Jett Miketa (Phyllis Cohen-Edwards Memorial) and Kelly Sass (Manhattan Beach Police Officers’ Association Officer Martin Ganz Memorial). Each student is the recipient of a $3,000 scholarship to assist them with costs associated with their college education, said Stephanie Martin, the organization's new president.

The Manhattan Beach Coordinating Council is a unique organization with a mission “To establish a forum to promote networking, communication and information exchange among agencies, organizations and individuals and to provide recognition to local students.”
