Members of the oldest bodysurfing club in the world, the Gillis Beach Bodysurfing Association, hung out on the sand early Saturday morning, overseeing the International Surf Festival Bodysurfing competition.

Manhattan Beach resident Bob Holmes of Gillis Beach told DigMB that locals, as well as bodysurfers from Germany and Australia, were competing in this year's event.

Events this morning included bodysurfing and surfing in Manhattan Beach, the Dick Fitzgerald Two-Mile Beach Run in Hermosa Beach and beach volleyball in HB.
