The Manhattan Beach Senior Little League All Star team for 2014 is in the Western Regional finals.

For the second year in a row, the Manhattan Beach Seniors Little League All Stars have walloped the competition in the Western Regionals tournament.

At 3-0 in regional competition, the team, which represents Southern California, plays a 3-0 Northern California team from Corning Little League today (Sunday at 6 p.m. in Ontario) to determine which team will be the #1 and #2 seed from Pool B.

In their last game Friday, the team posted a 12-0 win, their winning ways causing the legaue's "mercy" rule to be enacted after 5 innings of play for the third game in a row. The team previously beat Montana 23-0 and Oregon 11-1.

Regardless of the outcome of tonight's game, the boys will be seeded #1 or #2, making their way into the final four teams, with a must-win game on Monday in the single elimination play.

On Friday, three pitchers joined forces to throw a no-hitter in a 12-0 victory in five innings over Nevada on Friday at Ontario Fields of Dreams.

Rollie NicholsCarson Phillips and James Tullio teamed up to stifle Nevada, striking out eight while walking two.

Nichols was in control on the mound. Nichols held Nevada hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

The biggest inning for Manhattan Beach All Stars was the second. In the inning, the team scored nine runs, scoring on an RBI double by Dom Devico, a wild pitch, a two-run single by Nichols, an RBI single by Matt Bessera, a two-run single by David Arredondo, a passed ball, and an error.

Manhattan Beach All Stars was led by Jake Symon's hitting. Symon went 2-2, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

The team increased its lead with three runs in the fifth. Symon singled, plating Reese Alexiades to start the inning. That was followed up by Phillips' single, plating Symon and Arredondo.
