'Fall' Into Darren's for Delicious New Dishes

Chef Darren Weiss of Darren's Restaurant has added a creamy Butternut Squash Ravioli to his menu for fall.

Bring on fall, and bring on the delectable fall dishes!

Chef Darren Weiss of Darren's Restaurant is ushering in the season with several new menu items that will be featured throughout fall. 

The first of those dishes is a creamy Butternut Squash Ravioli topped with parmesan cheese and pumpkin seeds, and set in a seasoned butter sauce. The culinary master has also created a dreamy fall dessert, a Chunky Pumpkin Crème Brûlée.

Chef Darren is one of five Manhattan Beach chefs to be nominated Best Chef 2014 in a competition sponsored by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce. He joins fellow nominees Laura Mandracchia of Cake Bake Shop, Tin Vuong of Little Sister, Greg Hozinsky of The Strand House, and David LeFevre of Manhattan Beach Post and Fishing With Dynamite.

Voting in the competition has ended; an awards gala is set for Thursday, October 2 from 6-9 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach MarriottTickets, which include dinner and the awards ceremony, are $99 per person and $895 for a table of 10.

This is the chamber's 2nd Annual "Best of Manhattan" event. Awards will be given for: 
  • Best of Manhattan - All-Around Winner
  • Best Small Business 2014
  • Best Shop 2014
  • Best Community Event 2014
  • Best Chef 2014
  • Best Environmentally Sustainable Business 2014
  • Most Philanthropic Business 2014
