GROW Great Pumpkin Contest

The biggest pumpkin in Manhattan Beach has arrived at GROW The Produce Shop, and it could be yours if you guess the weight correctly.
GROW is displaying the pumpkin in its window from now until October 29. If you go into GROW anytime before then, you can fill out an entry form to guess the weight of the pumpkin (no lifting or moving allowed!). The winner will have the pumpkin delivered to his or her doorstep.
The idea for the annual pumpkin contest (now in its 9th year) came about for "just plain old fun," says Josh Harrison of GROW.
The pumpkin was grown by Van Groningen & Sons of Manteca, CA. Aside from the mega-pumpkin, GROW also sells mini, mini white, white, classic orange in small/medium/large, jarrahdale, Cinderella, fairytale, lil’ tiger, and pie pumpkins, as well as decorative gourds and mini Indian corn. The pumpkins are available while supplies last, so come in soon if you're partial to a particular variety of pumpkin, says Harrison. "We order once, and when we're sold out, we're sold out."
