Oct 24, 2014 03:43PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Are you a chili connoisseur? You'll have your pick of the best chili in the South Bay at the South Bay Chili Cook-Off on November 8 at the Manhattan Beach Fire Department. The event, produced by the Neptunian Women's Club, will feature gourmet chili tastings from top South Bay restaurants. All proceeds will benefit the Manhattan Beach Fire Fighters' Burn Foundation.

The cook-off and tastings will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the main Manhattan Beach Fire Station at 15th Street. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased through neptunians.org. Children 8 and under eat for free (and hot dogs will be available for children as well). The event also features a silent auction, raffle prizes, and live DJ.

A $75 ticket is also available that includes general admission to the cook-off, plus an after party from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on the rooftop deck of the Bank of Manhattan, 15th Street and Highland Avenue. Wine and beer will be available; only 21 and over will be admitted.

The Manhattan Beach Firefighters’ Burn Foundation serves the South Bay by providing aid and financial support to burn survivors and their families. The Foundation is dedicated to advancing burn research, burn prevention programs, and improving the quality of life for burn survivors.
The founation's support programs include meals for family members of burn victims, burn survivor reunions, summer camps, holiday gifts for young patients, as well as a retreat for families during a family member's hospitalization.
