Mira Costa Athletes Sign College Sports Scholarships

Ten Mira Costa High School student athletes signed "Letters of Intent" with 10 different four-year institutions last week on National Letter of Intent Day.
Tennis player Taylor Klein signed with University of California, Santa Barbara; Tennis player Evan Han signed with Swarthmore; Beach volleyball player Katrina Kernochan signed with USC; Beach volleyball player Kelly Geiser signed with UCLA; Soccer player Megan Carver signed with New York University; Soccer player McKenna Doyle signed with Boston University; Soccer player Nonie Frishette signed with Wake Forest; Soccer player Max Steinmetz signed with Rocky Mountain College; Volleyball player Sam Sestanovich signed with Emory, and crew woman Molly Gerber signed with the University of Washington.
A National Letter of Intent is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution in which
- A prospective student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters).
- The institution agrees to provide athletics financial aid for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters).
