Just in time for warmer weather, 10Best.com and USA Today Travel Media Group are conducting an online poll to name the top 10 beaches in California. Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach are among the beaches under consideration.
Chosen by a "panel of experts," beaches in the running go as far south as Coronado and as far north as Ocean Beach in San Francisco. The competition also includes beaches in San Diego, La Jolla, Encinitas, San Onofre, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Venice, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Cambria, Big Sur and Santa Cruz.
The California coast spans 1,264 miles, according to the online post, and is home to more than 100 seaside towns, plenty of evidence as to why our state is a travel destination year after year, season after season.
Voters can cast a vote daily; the contest to name the top 10 beaches in California concludes on March 16 at 9 a.m.
