INTERNATIONAL DIVISION
The International division of the Manhattan Beach Little League is for boys 10-11 years old by April 30. It's the second level of competitive kid-pitch baseball, one step above the Coast division.
Grays vs. Marcos
The Grays played the Marcos March 25. It was a tight game with a 1-1 tie going into the bottom of the 4th inning. Ryan Bui came up with 1 out and on a 0-1 count hit a pitch deep to center over the fence at Premier Field for his first HR of the season. We're pretty sure that was the first 10-year-old this year to go yard.
Bui's HR iginited a 6-run rally and the Grays pulled off a 10-6 win to stay undefeated (3-0 in-season, plus 1 victory versus Hermosa Beach in non-league action).
Eagles vs. Monarchs
Refusing to be intimidated, the scrappy Monarchs were a terror on the basepaths, stealing early and often, bouncing back whenever they got behind. Leadoff batter Nathan Smith scored three times, even rounding the bases on a hit when his single was misplayed.
The Eagles held a 7-6 lead going to the bottom of the 5th, behind 3 and 2/3rds innings of quality pitching by Finn Warren. That's when the Eagles rallied to score four times with two outs, putting the game out of reach.
The final 11-7 score left the Eagles (4-0) as one of three undefeated teams going into the season's Week 3.
