'Most Likely To Succeed' Screening at Mira Costa

What kind of education will your children need to succeed in the future workforce? Explore the possibilities at an advance screening of the edu-documentary "Most Likely To Succeed," in the Mira Costa auditorium on May 26.
The 2015 Sundance-featured film explores how our schools need to adapt to meet 21st century marketplace demands. The 6:30 screening will be followed by an optional panel discussion with parents, teachers, and administrators on what MBUSD is already doing to advance today's students and what possibilities lie ahead for the future.
According to the filmmakers, "Our education system was perfectly designed...to prepare workers for routine jobs that no longer exist. As we try to out-drill and out-test Korea we are leaving millions of young adults ill-prepared, uninspired and lacking the skills they need to thrive in an innovation economy. After seeing this film, you'll never look at school the same way again."
The event is being co-sponsored by the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation, the Manhattan Beach PTA Council, and the Manhattan Beach Unified School District.
"This film raises so many fascinating questions about today's educational system," said Farnaz Golshani Flechner, executive director of MBEF. "It is incredibly provocative and should spark some very interesting discussions."
The screening is free, but seating is limited, so attendees are asked to reserve a spot here.
