The Manhattan Beach Little League Junior All-Stars take on a team from Conejo Valley Wednesday, July 22 in the first game of the Sub Division championships in Brea.
The boys "played great in our last tournament," says coach Keith Ramsey, who notes the team defeated a North Venice Little League team 10-0 behind a one-hit complete game shutout from Merrick Baldo. Dylan Dennis had a big tournament, hitting over .600 with a Grand Slam and 3 doubles.
"Evan Voss and Tommy McMahon each provided valuable relief innings in our first two wins in the tourney," reports Ramsey. "This team has been a joy to coach."
The Junior League Baseball Division is a program for boys and girls ages 12-14, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. All-Star teams play post-season, competing to make it to the Junior League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the world.
