Dec 13, 2016 08:45AM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Want to enjoy the Rose Parade...up close and personal? Now's your chance to join the Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department's trip to the Rose Parade on January 1, 2017.

The bus trip is open to ages 5 and up; the cost is $113 for residents and $124 for non-residents. The bus will pick up at 5:30 a.m. at Joslyn Community Center and Manhattan Heights Park.

The parade, which begins at 8:00 a.m., is a two-hour spectacle of magnificent floral floats, talented marching bands, and high-stepping equestrians. Bus trip participants will have grandstand seats on Colorado Boulevard for up-close viewing of the parade.

The bus will return back to Manhattan Beach in time to watch the Rose Bowl on television.

The Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl Game is a celebration more than a century old, a festival of flowers, music and sports unequaled anywhere. For the 128th marching of the parade this year, three Southern California Olympians have been named as this year's Grand Marshalls: Greg Louganis, Janet Evans, and Allyson Felix.
