Strand House Celebrates Re-Opening After Fire

Celebrating its new repairs and good fortune following last month's fire, The Strand House will hold a "grand re-opening party" on Tuesday, August 22.
The Strand House experienced a fire in the restaurant's kitchen after hours in the early morning of July 29. No one was hurt in the two-alarm fire, but smoke and fire damage to the building caused the restaurant's temporary closure.
Tuesday night's festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the StrandBar. The party will feature a DJ, complimentary passed appetizers, and drink specials.
There will be no cover charge for the party, and The Strand House will be donating 50 percent of all proceeds from the party to the Manhattan Beach Firefighters Burn Foundation.
Owner Michael Zislis said that the party was in part a way to thank the efforts of the firefighters who contained and put out the fire. "A special thanks for the Manhattan Beach Fire Department for not only saving The Strand House, but saving over 125 jobs," he said.
