Manhattan Beach is home to some world-class coffee - why not try it all? That's the idea of the new MB Coffee Trail, a local expedition that encourages locals and visitors to explore coffee shops in Manhattan Beach.

To participate, grab a "passport" from any participating location; get it stamped when you buy your favorite latte, cappucino, macchiato, Americano, or custom coffee drink; and repeat at all of the stops between now and January 31 to get a free MB Coffee Trail mug.

The stops include Two Guns Espresso (at its Sepulveda and Highland locations), Manhattan Bread and Bagel, Le Pain Quotidien, Peet's Coffee, Cafe Wild, Starbucks, Homie, and the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

Passports are available at each of the locations. The completed passports can be redeemed for a coffee mug at the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, the creator and coordinator of the event.

The coffee trail is the brainchild of the Chamber of Commerce's director of partnerships - and local coffee connoisseur -  Brandon Oates. "I'm passionate about local coffee, and I'm passionate about our local businesses," said Oates. "If you like coffee, then drop the Folger's, get out there, and try something new."

Oates added that the souvenir mug is heat sensitive, so when you pour hot liquid into it, little footprints will light up on the illustration. "It's kind of a fun little one-of-a-kind souvenir mug that you can only get by completing the coffee trail," he said.

The event is sponsored by Chevron, with in-kind donations from PIP Printing. The artwork was created by Manhattan Beach local artist Jake Tedesco.
