If you haven't tried a family meal from one of Manhattan Beach's restaurants, what better time to start than on Takeout Tuesday? 

As local restaurants work to stay afloat during the coronavirus shutdown orders, many have moved to takeout service, and several have started offering "family meals."

These family meals give a chance for the family cook to have a break for a night. Most serve four to six people (although some are meant for two, in which case it is noted.) 

And in most cases, the family meals represent a significant "deal" compared to what you would spend to take the family out to dinner.

We've started by rounding up some family meal options that are available for tonight. Keep reading to find more family meals that are offered on other nights of the week.

California Pizza Kitchen - CPK is offering a variety of meal kits, with a choice of two or four servings. Fishbar - Did someone say Taco Tuesday? Fishbar offers a blackened fish taco kit for $39 that serves four. It includes blackened fish, eight flour tortillas, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, housemade taco sauce, avocado cream, cotija cheese, fresh jalapeños, and limes. Lido di Manhattan - Lido offers a family meal that serves four to six for $65. You get to choose from one salad, one flatbread, two pastas, and one dessert. MB Post - Tonight's family meal (pictured above) is smokey shrimp, chicken, and sausage gumbo; saffron rice with scallions; three bean salad with celery, red onion, and rosemary; and Southern banana cream pie trifles. Pitfire Pizza - Pitfire has a family meal that serves four to six for $45. Shade Hotel - Shade is offering its famous $50 family meal deal that serves four, with a different entree each night of the week. Simmzy's - If it's Tuesday, it must be Taco Tuesday. Simmzy's is offering a Taco Pack for $50 that makes 16 tacos. It includes a choice of two fillings, La Tortilla tortillas (flour, corn or combo), tortilla chips, salsa or pico de gallo, guacamole, kim chee pickles, pickled red onion, onion cilantro mix, and queso fresco. The Arthur J - Tonight's family meal from The Arthur J is cumin roasted halibut with with farro, tomato, roasted corn and lacinato kale salad, cilantro and honey glazed carrots, and dark chocolate pudding.  Serves four to six for $90. Several other Manhattan Beach restaurants offer family meals, although not on Tuesdays. So if you're planning ahead for the rest of the week, consider these options as well:

El Tarasco - Sepulveda - On Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, El Tarasco (Sepulveda) offers family packs. Try 10 tacos or four Wet Jr. Burritos for $30, or 4 quesadillas for $15. You can order quart-sized rice or beans, as well as chips to go with it. Call 310-406-8399 to order.

Manhattan House: Family meals are available Wednesday though Sunday, with prices ranging from $25 to $32, and the meals serve two. This week's menu includes: Wednesday - Fried chicken with mashed potatoes; Thursday - Roasted salmon with soffrito and spiced yogurt; Friday - Cheeseburgers, spicy chicken sandwiches, and pulled pork sandwiches; Saturday - Full prime rib dinner; Sunday - Surf & Turf.
