Does your pet have the cutest/scariest/most original Halloween costume? If your answer is yes to any or all of those, you're in luck because the Neptunian Woman's Club of Manhattan Beach is holding a Halloween Pet Photo Contest.
The contest will raise funds for scholarships for Mira Costa High School and El Camino College students.
To enter, submit a photo of your pet in costume on the contest entry page between October 1 and October 24. The entry fee is $20 per photo. (Real photos please; no photoshopping.)
The judging categories are Best Overall, Scariest, Funniest, Most Original, Best Group (3 or more), and Judges Choice. There will be four cash prizes in each Category - 1st - $100, 2nd - $50, 3rd - $20 and 4th - $10. (There may be some pet store gift cards as well.)
According to Heather de Roos, VP of fundraising for the Neptunian Woman's Club, the club holds fundraisers every year for Mira Costa and El Camino scholarships. This year, however, things are different because of the lack of in-person gatherings.
"In the past our events were held in person, so we are trying new,
creative ways to raise funds this year. We thought
since so many people are loving spending more time with their pets
lately we would have a pet photo costume contest," said de Roos. "I hope people enjoy being creative and feel good about giving
back to students."
The Neptunian Woman’s Club, founded
in 1909, is the oldest civic organization in the South Bay. It is a
