On Sunday morning, Manhattan Beach and the beach cities were the site of a car rally by supporters of President Donald Trump.
The gathering featured hundreds of car and truck horns honking along major streets through the late morning hours, as some pedestrians lined the street to show their support. (See the short video below.)
The event began with a lineup of supporters and their vehicles at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. Police blocked a lane of traffic on Aviation to get the rally flowing, and the cars eventually made their way to Sepulveda/PCH to drive through Hermosa and Redondo Beach.
Whether those supporters represent a majority of voters in Manhattan Beach remains to be seen. In the Nov. 2016 presidential election, Manhattan Beach voters sided with Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton with 63% of the vote, while President Trump earned 31%.
