Manhattan Beach Library Set for Partial Reopening

Library fans, rejoice: The Manhattan Beach Library is set for partial reopening on Monday, April 19.
The Los Angeles County Library system has announced that the Manhattan Beach Library is one of 30 public libraries in L.A. County to begin reopening this month.
Through the partial reopening the following services will be available to the public:
- Browsing the collection and checking out items;
- Using the public computers (up to 1 hour per person);
- Printing;
- Picking up items on hold;
- Having "brief" interactions with reference staff to find materials or information;
- Using free wi-fi.
Customers are asked to: maintain a 6-foot distance between other customers and library staff when in line and inside the library; wear a face covering at all times; adhere to posted library capacity limits; make library trips quick and efficient; and keep food and drink out of the library.
Currently the Manhattan Beach Library offers a sidewalk service for picking up items on hold, Monday through Friday.
The Manhattan Beach Library is part of the L.A. County public library system, which has a 7.5 million volume book collection and a service area extending over 3,000 square miles.
Completed in 2015, the Manhattan Beach Library is designed and built with LEED GOLD
certification and features sweeping views of the Santa Monica Bay and Pacific
Ocean. Designed by architecture firm Johnson Favaro, it was a finalist in two categories of the Architizer A+ Awards: Best Library, and Best use of Glass in Architecture.
