“These last 20 months of
living in a way no one could have predicted propelled our team to re-imagine
our Roundhouse Aquarium education programs, reaching more than 36,000 school-aged
children throughout the United States and around the globe,” said Grace Adams,
OTS executive director, in a statement. “More than ever, the Roundhouse Aquarium needs the
community’s help to ensure that programs that inspire people of all ages to
care for the oceans, tidelands and beaches continue to serve school-aged
children and people of all ages and backgrounds. We are starting to welcome
field trips to the aquarium now, and we hope to increase our reach to educate
more young learners across the globe.”
All proceeds from the Light Up the Beach Cities fundraiser
will support OTS’ science-based education programs on the oceans, tidelands and
beaches.
