response to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, the Manhattan
Beach City Hall and the Police and Fire Department lobby will be
temporarily closed to visitors through January 15, 2022.
“The health and safety of our community and city employees remain our top priority,” said Mayor Hildy Stern in a statement. “As
cases in Manhattan Beach have increased by approximately ten times over
the last few weeks, and the highly contagious
omicron variant has become more prevalent within our community, it is
necessary to take actions to slow community transmission of the virus
and protect city employees.”
During this time, City Hall will be closed to
visitors for walk-in services. City Council meetings will be held exclusively online for January 11, 18, and 19.
However, city on-line services and in-person appointments will still be
available.
Additionally, public safety and public
works services are not expected to be affected, and in-person recreation
programs will continue until further notice.
