Celebrate Betty White's 100th Birthday in Manhattan Beach

Have you ever wanted to "Be Like Betty"? On Monday, grab your favorite "golden girls" (and guys) and celebrate Betty White's 100th birthday at Tabula Rasa in Downtown Manhattan Beach.
The party, which will last from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on January 17, will feature custom-designed items for purchase, including an exclusive tee shirt, ball cap, and kitchen towel saying "Be Like Betty."
Tabula Rasa will also feature (while supplies last) two of Betty White's favorites: hot dogs (from Ercole's) and a vodka cocktail (from the Strand House). The "Rose on the Lanai" cocktail - shown at left - was specially created for the event by Strand House bar manager and mixologist Makala Meyer.
Any customer spending $100 or more will also receive a free book on White.
Additionally, the store will donate a percentage of proceeds from all Jellycat Plush purchases to the LA Zoo - one of White's favorite organizations - in her honor.
"The inspiration is Betty herself," said Maureen McBride, owner of Tabula Rasa. "We just love her - from her sense of
humor to her kindness and wise quips....and mostly because she was a 'friend.'"
McBride continued: "We are encouraging everyone to 'Be Like Betty' - bring their friends,
dress like their favorite Golden Girls character, and safely gather to
celebrate the birthday of a beloved icon, and help us raise a nice
donation for the LA Zoo - one of her favorite organizations for
their work with animals."
Beloved actress and comedian White passed away on December 31, just weeks before what would have been her 100th birthday on January 17.
