Athletes Triumph During Weekend of Manhattan Beach Sporting Events

At a full weekend of beach sporting events - including the 6-Man Beach Volleyball Tournament and the International Surf Festival - the region's foremost athletic talent was on display.
Leading off the weekend on Friday and Saturday was the popular 6-Man Beach Volleyball Tournament. Team winners were the Lyon Stahl team on the mens' side and Horny Unicorny on the womens' side.

In the Dick Fitzgerald 2-Mile Run on Saturday, the top three male finishers were Max Levin (13:04), Luke Graham (13:40), and Sean Arregro (13:59). The top three female finishers were Dalia Frias (14:21), Camille Chittenden (17:29), and Diane Silva (18:35).
(At the race, which is the main fundraiser of the year for the Mira Costa Cross Country team, several runners locked arms to cross the finish line together.)

At the Velzy-Stevens Paddleboard Race, there were speedy finishers in each class (See the race video below). For the men, the top paddlers in each class were Victor Katz (Prone 14’ M Open) (19:42); Luke Pohlman (Prone Stock M 18-39) (19:57); Max Lynch (Prone Unlimited M Open) (20:12); Peter Toumajian (Prone Stock M 14-17) (21:36); Pierce O'Leary (Prone 14' M U18) (21:56); and Jake Everitt (Prone 14' M 12-13) (22:37).
On the women's side, the top paddlers in each class were Cassia Cole (Prone Stock F 14-17) (23:57); Lisa Boos (Prone Unlimited F U18) (24:32); Marlo Leigh Harris (Prone Stock F 12-13) (26:24); and Ina Gorordo (Prone Stock F 18-39) (26:46).

At the Dwight Crum Pier to Pier Swim on Sunday, the top three male finishers (swimsuit division) were Ryan Bullock (38:11), Alexander Cole (39:09), and Alex Kostich (40:07). The top three female finishers (swimsuit division) were Kelsey Cummings (39:52), Kai Izquierdo (44:00), and Amy Dantzler (44:48).
In the wetsuit division of the Pier to Pier swim, the top three male finishers were Michael Davidson (43:42), Michael Collins (45:01), and Paul Laurin (47:56). The top three female finishers were Veronica Hibben (48:58), Charlotte Coker (50:06), and Madison Raubaugh (52:33).
