Culture Club South Bay, an organization that seeks to promote community, diversity, and inclusion across the South Bay, is seeking donations of new and used wetsuits for its surf camp in September.

The free camp - to be held on September 10. 17, and 24 - will bring a diverse group of youth together from across the South Bay to learn volleyball, surfing, and culinary skills.

Culture Club is seeking wetsuits in small adult and youth sizes, to fit youth ages 8 to 13.

Drop off during the week is available on Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at
Strand Hill Christie’s International Real Estate, 1131 N Morningside Dr in Manhattan Beach.

There will be a drop-off bin provided on the upper deck outside office.

Outside of these hours and days, please contact Billy Corvalan at [email protected] to donate a wetsuit.

Camp Volunteers Needed

Aside from wetsuits, Culture Club is also seeking volunteers to assist with the camp. Volunteers may sign up online www.cultureclubsb.com and choose 2-hour segments to work.

Culture Club South Bay is a community platform founded by Allison Hales in the fall 2020 to celebrate diversity and create inclusion in the South Bay.

In the fall of 2021, Culture Club South Bay launched its first youth engagement camp at Bruce’s Beach with a goal to unite local youth by celebrating diversity and creating inclusion through surfing, volleyball, arts, education, and culinary experiences.

Culture Club South Bay hosts the camp each spring and fall for South Bay and Southern California youths to experience beach life and create meaningful friendships.
