Are you thinking that the current lineup of speakers for TEDx Manhattan Beach on November 5 looks pretty good?

But wait - there's more! Meet Caley Versfelt, a local Southern California Special Olympics Athlete and ambassador, who will appear at the TEDx MB Expo.

Versfelt is a swimmer on the So. Cal. Special Olympics team. She also volunteers as a Special Olympics ambassador to grow awareness of challenges facing kids and adults with intellectual disabilities - and to have people see another's "abilities" first.

Versfelt has guest starred on an episode of ABC’s Good Doctor prime TV show, as well as short films and videos.

She has also created a t-shirt business spreading her motto of "Tides of Kindness," with a portion of proceeds going back to related nonprofits.

Fournell Added as "Co-ordinator of Spontaneous Fun"

The TEDx MB speaker list (see previous speaker bios here) has also been amended to add longtime Manhattan Beach community member Grettel Fournell, who is billed as a "Co-ordinator of Spontaneous Fun." Fournell aims to share with all her lifelong love - and family tradition - of dancing.

The full TEDx MB speaker list for November 5 includes:

  • Josh Brost – 3D Printer of Rockets
  • Rob DeCou – Ultra Endurance Athlete With A Cause
  • Grettel Fournell – Co-ordinator of Spontaneous Fun
  • Tashande Giles-Jones – Environmental Educator
  • Debi Gutierrez - Comedian
