Three recent residential burglaries in the past week have strong similarities, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department, which urged residents to be vigilant.

During the week of March 30 to April 5, there were six residential burglaries, according to MBPD. Three of those burglaries appeared to be related.

Those three burglaries:

1) Occurred between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.;
2) Involved entry taking place from a second story window;
3) Targeted the master bedroom, with jewelry being stolen.

The burglaries all took place West of Sepulveda, with one in the Tree section on the 600 block of 18th St., and two in the Hill section - one on the 300 block of S. Dianthus and one on the 800 block of 11th St.

One of the houses was on a corner lot. Historically, corner lots tend to be targeted, according to MBPD.

MBPD has urged residents to observe these home safety tips and to participate in their local Neighborhood Watch program.

Anyone observing suspicious activity is encouraged to call 9-1-1 for emergencies, and (310) 545-4566 for the MBPD non-emergency line.
