Parents to Battle in Soccer, Softball Tourneys for a Good Cause

Apr 28, 2023 05:03PM ● By Mb News Staff
The annual dates for two popular fundraising events for the MBX Foundation are nearing, with a parents' soccer tournament in two weeks, and a similar softball tournament on Sunday, June 4.

Each charitable event pits parents versus parents, grouped into teams by school affiliations.

Both events see weekend warriors mix with active athletes who compete regularly on the pitch or the softball diamond. For some players, it's mainly a fun day in the park, with family watching the parents play (for once!). But both tournaments seem to get competitive toward the finals, with bragging rights at stake.

On Saturday, May 13, Mira Costa's West Field (along Meadows Ave.) hosts the Goodrich Parents' Soccer Classic. See the website for details and contact info to get connected with the right team, or email the organizers directly (by clicking here).

If you're interested in playing in the 17th Parents' Softball Classic on Sunday, June 4, you'll also need to connect with your school's coach. (Parents are designated to play for the school which their youngest child is currently attending.) To get connected with your school's softball team, contact the tournament director, Dave Fratello, by email (by clicking here).
