The Manhattan Beach Rotary Club this week gave out $3,500 in awards to high-achieving music students in the Manhattan Beach schools.
The awards are part of an annual tradition, through which the MB Rotary has awarded more than $40,000 to local middle and high school students over the last 15 years.
At Monday morning's gathering, the club heard a solo performance from each of the students before giving out the awards.
"These young talented musicians sound like you are at the Hollywood Bowl," said Rotary member Kelly Stroman. "Their individual poise and precision leaves the room captivated. It's
our favorite meeting of the year."
