Skechers, a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Manhattan Beach, celebrated 25 years as a public company by ringing the New York Stock Exchange opening bell earlier this week.

As the company celebrated the milestone, its stock hit an all-time high, at $72.27.

Skechers, the third largest footwear brand in the world, recently announced a record-breaking quarter, with sales of $2.25 billion for the first quarter as well as record annual sales of over $8 billion at year-end 2023.

The company attributes its success to its dedication to innovation. Its popular products range from the Skechers Hands Free Slip-ins™ footwear designed with the exclusive "heel pillow" that allows you to step in without bending over; to podiatrist-certified arch support with Skechers Arch Fit; to its 2023 entry into team sports with Skechers Football (Soccer) and Skechers Basketball.

New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle, one of the first athletes to step onto the court in Skechers Basketball, joined Skechers on the podium for the occasion. Randle said that the brand listened to his needs and worked with him to design footwear to ensure that he performs at the top of his game.

Skechers Expanding in Manhattan Beach and Worldwide

At its corporate headquarters in Manhattan Beach, Skechers designs its footwear, develops marketing campaigns, and oversees its global operations. Skechers supports its accounts and partners with more than 70 regional offices and showrooms in North America, South America, Europe and Asia; growing its brand in approximately 180 countries.

In Manhattan Beach, Skechers is also in the process of a major expansion of its corporate headquarters along Sepulveda Blvd. Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, the new buildings will double the company’s office and showroom space in Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach.

Skechers president and co-founder Michael Greenberg is known for founding the Skechers Foundation and the annual Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, which has raised more than $24 million for children with special needs and education. He also helped found the Friendship Foundation, a non-profit mentoring organization; its future Friendship Campus (The Greenberg Family / Skechers Center) which will offer job training, skill building and continued education for young adults with varying abilities; and The Harrison Greenberg Memorial Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to restoring and protecting the Roundhouse Aquarium in honor of his son, Harrison Greenberg.
