Fred Brown is honored and excited to swim for Emory University. He started his swim career at four years old when he knew he wanted to follow in his father’s and brother’s wake and swim competitively in college. He is looking forward to swimming fast and supporting MCHS’ swim team and their amazing coaches. Go Eagles!

Mckenna Cooper will be attending UC Santa Barbara and playing for the Gauchos Division I women’s soccer team. She has played Costa soccer and earned scholar-athlete since her freshman year. She helped lead the varsity team to a Bay League Championship, a CIF Open Division semi-final, and CIF D1 Regional semi-final. Mckenna is a center midfielder and four-time co-captain for Beach FC ECNL where her team is ranked #1 in the country. Beach FC history by winning the club’s first-ever ECNL National Championship title and Southwest Conference Championship. She is ranked 34th overall in Southern California by TopDrawerSoccer, a four-time Cal South Pro Olympic Development Program team alternate, and was selected by US Club Soccer’s id2 National Identification program to represent the Los Angeles Regional team. Mckenna is grateful for the support and encouragement of her family, teammates, and all of her coaches including Amanda and Shannon Cross. She is excited to further her academic and athletic interests at her dream school, UCSB. Go Gauchos!

Taylor Deckert will be attending the University of Southern California and competing on the women’s indoor volleyball team. Taylor has been the starting libero of the Mira Costa varsity volleyball team since her sophomore year, and she also competed for the beach team. She has been a proud scholar-athlete all four years and has received bay league libero of the year since her sophomore year. She played club for SCVC and won a national championship last summer in the 17 Open, and was also named an All-American. She would like to thank her family for being her #1 fans. She also thanks her teammates and coaches for helping her grow as a person and a player. Taylor is honored to have represented Costa, one of the top volleyball teams in the country. She is excited to continue her volleyball career at USC starting this January. Fight on!
Win Gurney will be attending Oregon State University and competing for the baseball team. Win has played varsity baseball at Costa since his freshman year and has earned appointment to the All League team each year. His junior year he also received honors on the All Region team with the highest batting average in the league. Win also played football for Costa his freshman and sophomore year and achieved academic athlete honors every year since his freshman year. Win is incredibly excited about his upcoming season at Costa and his future at Oregon State. Go Beavs!
Cooper Keane will be attending the University of Southern California and competing for the Trojans volleyball team. Cooper has been a member of the Costa varsity indoor team for 3 years, and has played opposite and outside hitter. Cooper currently plays club volleyball for MB Surf and he has competed in Puerto Rico for the U19 USA national team, where they won a gold medal. Cooper would like to thank his friends, family, and coaches throughout the years and cannot wait to continue his volleyball career at USC. Fight on!

Alisa Lansky will be attending UC San Diego and competing for the Tritons' women’s tennis team. Alisa has been playing on the Varsity Mira Costa tennis since her freshman year playing both singles and doubles throughout the seasons. Individually, she plays in many different
Emily Pfaff will be attending Loyola Marymount University and competing for the top five nationally ranked Lions Beach Volleyball Team. Emily has won numerous CBVA, USAV, and AAU tournaments, winning the AAU Junior Olympic Championship in 2023. Emily has been a member of the USA NTDP program since 2021. She has been an honors student and member of CSF since her freshman year. Emily has trained with Coach Anna Collier for the last five years and she is a member of the Spiker Beach Volleyball Club. Emily would like to thank her family, friends and coaches, including her strength coach, Jackie Guera, for all their guidance and support over the last several years. She is looking forward to starting her collegiate career and pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Go Lions!
Lucas Schermer will be attending UC Irvine, where he will be competing on the Anteater baseball team and majoring in business. While at Mira Costa, Lucas has played shortstop, third base and pitcher. After a full summer of competitive baseball with TB SoCal, Lucas committed to UCI and Coach Orloff. He would like to thank his family, friends, teammates, Costa coaches, HBLL, Tony and George, TB SoCal, The Yard, Bill Otino, Pedro and Josh who have all contributed greatly to helping him become a better player and man.
