Manhattan Beach Switches City's EV Charging Stations to Paid Model

The City of Manhattan Beach is transitioning its electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to a paid use model effective on Tuesday, December 3.
The city will begin implementing a usage rate of
$0.51 per kWh, in an effort to "support ongoing maintenance
and service improvements," according to a city press release.
To charge, you will need to create an account with Liberty Access Technologies. Then download the Liberty Hydra app.
Next, fund your pre-paid wallet in your Liberty Hydra account by clicking the balance option on the home screen. Enable location settings and choose the correct charging location in the app via the ‘plug’ icon. Then select ‘Start Charging.’ You may choose from one, two, four, and five-hour public code charging durations.
The city currently operates 26 EV charging stations at nine locations, which include:

| Live Oak Park at 1901 N. Valley Drive | 2 stations |
| Upper North Pier Parking Lot at 1125 Ocean Drive | 2 stations |
| Upper South Pier Parking Lot at 1121 Ocean Drive | 2 stations |
| Civic Center Parking Garage (not including city fleet chargers) | 10 stations |
| Parking Lot #4 at 3738 Highland Ave | 2 stations |
