The Mira Costa boys' basketball team hosted a playoff game at home this week for the second consecutive year, but now they get another one.

Costa defeated the visitors from Windward, 59-48, on Tuesday, after scoring the first 10 points of the game and holding a sizable lead until the last few minutes. A late Windward rally was cast aside, and the Mustangs secured the win.

 

The biggest surprise of the evening? Costa won't be traveling for its semi-final game. 

Instead, Costa hosts Santa Barbara at 7:00PM on Saturday. 

Late Tuesday, Santa Barbara defeated Mater Dei, a team that outranked Costa and would have hosted a playoff between the two. Instead, the 'Stangs get home cooking and a home crowd.
