Manhattan Beach Celebrates Colorful 4th of July

Jul 05, 2025 08:46AM ● By Mb News Staff
From the beach to the streets, Manhattan Beach celebrated a festive and colorful Fourth of July holiday on Friday.

The day began with an early morning attempt to run the 9th annual SUP Squatch Invitational. However, the waves were not cooperating, and after a few photos and attempts to get the giant stand-up paddleboards going, the Nikau Kai crew reverted to traditional boards.

Just down the street, the rowdy Hermosa Beach Ironman spilled over into Manhattan Beach as hundreds of participants ran, paddled, and drank their way to glory.

On the east side of town, a more kid-friendly event unfolded at Begg Pool for the annual Fourth of July pool party.

Later the Golf Cart Crew held its fifth annual Golf Cart Parade, with patriotically decorated golf carts winding their way through downtown to honks and waves.

Following countless parties and gatherings, the night ended with fireworks in the distance (but no one shot off fireworks in Manhattan Beach, right?).
