Saint & Second Opens in Manhattan Beach

Aug 27, 2025 10:31PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
The popular Southern California restaurant Saint & Second has opened in Manhattan Village, bringing its signature blend of elevated American cuisine, inventive craft cocktails, and warm hospitality to the South Bay.

The Manhattan Beach location is the restaurant's newest outpost, following the original location in Long Beach's Belmont Shore, and a second location in Topanga. The restaurant is part of the Hofman Hospitality Group (Hof’s Hut, Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que), a family-owned business with deep Southern California roots.

To build out the new location, the Hofman family worked with California artists to bring together curated pieces that embrace the coastal surroundings and textures, tones, and natural beauty of the area. Fans of Saint & Second will notice that the new space features a softer, sun-washed palette.

To get to know Saint & Second, MB News had a few questions for Brad Hofman, president of Hofman Hospitality Group:

MB News: What makes Saint & Second unique among American-style restaurants in the area?

Brad Hofman: Guests today want memorable flavor without pretense. Saint & Second delivers that—serious cooking, a smart drink program, and welcoming hospitality—in a setting that feels like the best of Long Beach, Woodland Hills, and now Manhattan Beach.

MB News: Why was Manhattan Beach chosen as a location?

Hofman: Manhattan Beach felt like a natural choice for us. The beach cities embody the same spirit we celebrate at Saint & Second—coastal, vibrant, and community-minded. It’s the perfect fit for our style of dining and hospitality.

MB News: What are some of the most popular dishes (and cocktails)?

Hofman: Each community has its own “favorites,” so it is difficult to pinpoint. However, undeniably guests love our S&S Signature Burger, Steak & Frites, and Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. For cocktails, our classic Bonded Old Fashioned and The Missing Link - a seasonal cocktail made with Casa Dragones Blanco Tequila, Legendario Domingo Mezcal, lime cordial, and yuzu kosho are guest favorites. Ultimately, our ever-changing menu gives guests something seasonal and fresh to look forward to throughout the year.

MB News: Are there any special times to come by (such as happy hour and happy hour specials)?

Hofman: Our Social Hour (3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays) is a special time to visit. Exclusive food offerings, delightful cocktails, and our memorable service standards are all offered in the casual environment of the mid-day period when people are looking to start winding down.
