In the early morning hours of Labor Day, a thief or thieves broke into South Bay Gold in Manhattan Beach, stealing millions of dollars worth of gold and jewelry.

The Manhattan Beach Police Department reported that the theft occurred sometime between midnight and 4:00 a.m. on Monday, September 1. The jewelry store, located at 2413 N. Sepulveda Blvd., had been closed for Labor Day weekend.

The suspect(s) apparently cut a hole in the roof to gain access to the business, according to police.

A store manager told CBS LA that the thieves broke open all of the safes and took "everything," said the manager. One suspect apparently got cut and left some blood behind at the scene.

Additionally, a suspect apparently tunneled through the drywall to Coast Music next door and was seen on video just before 1:00 a.m. The suspect fiddled with power cords at Coast Music, but did not appear to take anything. The hole in the wall at Coast Music has since been repaired, a staff member told KYMA/NBC News

Anyone with more information or surveillance video is asked to call Manhattan Beach Police Detective Connor Hedde at 310-802-5121.

In the meantime, South Bay Gold is urging customers to visit its Torrance location at 3804 W. Sepulveda in Torrance.
