Want to know what Manhattan Beach Police have been up to today (and for the last two weeks? Check out the new Calls for Service dashboard.
The dashboard shows a map of the city, along with coded icons that display where the police have been called, and for what kind of issue.
[To find the dashboard if you lose this link, go to ManhattanBeach.gov, then pull down Departments -> Police Department -> Calls for Service Dashboard]
Icons on the dashboard denote activity for alarms, animal issues, assault, disturbances, calls that require Fire Department assistance, fireworks, parking, proactive policing, property crime, robbery, theft, traffic, general police work, and unknown incidents (events that require more investigation upon arrival at the scene).
The dashboard is updated every 15 minutes. In most cases, it takes about two hours after an incident has been closed for it to show up on the dashboard, according to police. The area on the dashboard reflects the general area of the call and not the exact address.
The dashboard does NOT show calls for domestic violence, sexual assault, crimes against children, or other calls for service that are deemed sensitive for police investigations.
