A crowd gathers in anticipation of the Light Gate sunset in Manhattan Beach.
The city is seeking applications from residents and community stakeholders interested in serving on a roster of qualified individuals for future Art in Public Places Committees (APPCs).
An APPC is a special project-specific committee formed for each public art initiative. Members review and evaluating artist applications and helping to select artists to be recommended for public art projects throughout the city.
Interested community members may apply here. The application will ask for your resume as well as any relevant experience.
Applicants will be added to a roster of qualified candidates and may be invited to serve on a committee as public art opportunities arise.
Art in Public Places projects are supported by the city's Public Arts Fund , which is established through a dedicated 1% development fee and does not impact the general fund.

(And don't forget; the next sunset viewing at one of Manhattan Beach's most iconic public artworks, the Light Gate sculpture, will occur on November 14.)
