Manhattan Beach Celebrates Holidays with Fireworks, Snow Festival

Dec 20, 2025 10:05AM ● By MB News Staff
Manhattan Beach rings in the holidays with a party like no other - a snow park, live music, a menorah lighting, and spectacular fireworks over the beach.

A tradition started in 1989 by Pete Moffatt, the holiday fireworks celebration has grown from a 500-person event to a full-blown production that draws as many as 40,000 people.

Now sponsored by Skechers and produced by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, the event is boosted by multiple community supporters.

The event begins with the Skechers Snow Park, offering sled runs, snow play, and crafts for kids and families.

Live music highlights include Hiatus, the Mira Costa Jazz Band, and Joe's Band.

For the big finale, fans crowd the streets, Strand, and the beach to watch the show.
