VEG ER for Pets Opens in Manhattan Beach

Apr 02, 2026 07:57AM ● By MB News Staff
VEG ER for Pets, a veterinary emergency company, celebrated its opening in Manhattan Beach this week.

The facility, located at 1800 N. Sepulveda Blvd., aims to provide families in Manhattan Beach and neighboring areas with highly skilled emergency veterinary care including surgeries, ultrasounds, x-rays and more. This is the second VEG ER for Pets in the South Bay and the fourth hospital in Los Angeles County, following Torrance, Santa Monica and Santa Clarita.

"Our mission has always been to help people and their pets when they need it most,” said Dr. David Bessler, founder and CEO of VEG ER for Pets, in a statement. “Opening in Manhattan Beach allows us to do exactly that, by providing 24/7 emergency care that treats the whole family with compassion and transparency.”

VEG ER for Pets promises that when a pet parent calls, they speak immediately with a licensed veterinarian to get their medical questions answered. Triage begins as soon as patients arrive, even before filling out paperwork. Pet parents are allowed to stay with their pet through all stages of treatment, including surgery and overnight hospitalization. The hospital has an open floor plan that allows pet parents freedom of movement.

VEG ER for Pets in Manhattan Beach is open for pet emergencies 24/7 and on holidays.
