Manhattan Beach has announced the results of its America 250 Poster Contest, with a poster by Orhan Taner chosen as the winning submission. 

"The creativity and talent displayed by all of the artists helped commemorate this historic milestone and showcased the vibrant arts community that makes Manhattan Beach so special," the city wrote in a statement. 

The contest invited artists of all ages and experience levels who live, work, or play in Manhattan Beach to create an original poster celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary while capturing the spirit, history, and character of the Manhattan Beach community. Taner's jury-selected design will serve as the official poster for the City's America 250 celebration.

During the America 250 Concert and Celebration: Salute to the Troops Concert in the Park on Sunday, July 5, Manhattan Beach Mayor Joe Franklin will recognize Taner and present him with a framed copy of the poster. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to meet Taner during a special poster signing. Free posters will be available at the event while supplies last.  

"As a first-generation immigrant, I am deeply honored to contribute to our community’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Being part of this historic milestone is both a privilege and a meaningful reminder of the opportunities this country has given me," said Taner.
