The pop-up will be held from September 23 through 27 at Fête by Slay. Reservations for the event filled up within 24 hours; however, the bar area is first-come, first-served. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m.

"I think it’s just going to be a party," former Fonz's owner Danny Boehle told MB News. "I want it to be fun; but there’s not going to be any pressure, like we’re not going to be reviewed. Anyone who made reservations is going to know who we are. I think it's going to be an incredible [time] of love and old-school memories and laughing - and I think the whole week is going to be fun."

In addition to classic menu items such as Fonz's famous meatloaf, the event will bring back many of the old "crew" including former servers and chefs. TV screens throughout the restaurant will be showing reels from Mike Dodd and Tim Hovland on the AVP beach volleyball tour and video from the 2023 Little League World Series (Boehle served as head coach on the winning team from El Segundo). Boehle's uncle's band will play on the last night of the pop-up. 

"Everyone's so excited - I'm getting so many texts," added Boehle. 

Original co-owners Boehle and Dodd, a beach volleyball champion and Olympic medalist from Manhattan Beach, founded the restaurant back in 1997. Boehle bought out Dodd in 2005 and Boehle subsequently sold the restaurant in 2017. The restaurant was named for Dodd's late father, whose nickname was "Fonz."
